Patrick Tobin was born in Kilkenny (Ireland) in about 1816. He was convicted of feloniously killing a sheep in 1836 and transported to NSW as a convict (as was his mother, brother and sister). Granted a ticket of leave in 1846, he married Bridget Gibbs (nee Ryan) in 1851. He died at Glen Innes in 1887.
